Ribbon / Braid / Stretched Lace / Craft Stuff

We are a small company, made up of me and him, that is Chris and Frank Carrick.

We've been working together for the last 27+ years, and married for most of them.
It started with me, Chris, making jewellery as a hobby, back in the days when I had a "proper" job.
Then things got out of hand.....

We started to sell my jewellery at craft fairs.
One day I got talking to another 'craftworker' and we ended up buying his ornament business.
That involved, renting a workshop, hiring staff and a lot of paperwork.
The jewellery sort of got left behind.

After five years it was time to get a hobby (getting a life was out of the question).
In one of those happy accidents, I learnt to paint with an iron.
A technique called 'encaustic painting'.

One thing led to another and now I make the wax, paint- with it (to order if you want me to), photograph the images I uses, fight with Photoshop to put paintings and photos together, prints them out (using someone else's printer) and finish them off in various ways from straight, mounted prints to - champagne glasses, vases, candle holders and candles, key rings, magnetic address books, magnetic bookmarks, quartz crystals, jewellery, you name it, I'll try it.
The details of all that and Frank's chess sets are on another website.

Then in 2002, Frank (trying to be nice) bought me broadband for Christmas and I discovered eBay......

We've been selling (and buying) on there ever since.
Not just the things we both make but anything else we fancy or can get a bargain on. This has lead to many trade shows (as in -> I like that.....I'll have some, one for me and the rest for eBay) and auctions, the real stand-in-a-cold-warehouse-type ones and the online ones.

This is where the ribbon, braid and lace came from.
A ribbon wholesale warehouse went into receivership and we took advantage.
There is a lot of ribbon sat here, but when it's gone, it's gone. Hopefully when it is, something else will have taken it's place.

We work as a team, the computer is mine, the post room is Frank's and if we can get a bargain, we'll pass it on.
We like to think we're reliable, but if you've never dealt with us before, you only have our word for it......
.....unless the words of our eBay customers are good enough for you. Clicking here will take you to our eBay feedback page and you can see what other customers have said.
